STABILITY FOR THE SOUL. STRATEGY FOR THE SEASON
HELPING PASTORS AND LEADERS NAVIGATE CULTURAL CHALLENGES AND LEADERSHIP FATIGUE
Leadership today requires more than preaching strong sermons or casting a compelling vision. You've felt the shift—the old playbook no longer works. And while you continue to preach, pastor, and lead, you often do so while feeling isolated, exhausted, or uncertain.
I know this because I've lived it.
For over 26 years, I led through growth, transition, and cultural upheaval—mentored by Tim Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. My experience spans founding vision to succession, strategy to shepherding, and everything in between. I know what it's like to cling to your calling in seasons of both fruit and failure, joy and pain.

I grew, failed, and succeeded as a leader in one of the most diverse, complex cities in the world. Today, I come alongside as a seasoned, empathetic thought partner, helping pastors and leadership teams synthesize hard-won wisdom, rediscover their calling, and lead with both grace and strategy.
Areas I Help With
Drawing on decades of pastoral leadership—and my MBA from Columbia University—I coach and consult pastors and leaders navigating complex cultural currents, polarized congregations, and organizational uncertainty. My goal is to bring clarity, strategy, and stability to leaders committed to leading in this moment.
Leadership transitions & succession
Organizational clarity & strategic planning
Personal resilience & vocational renewal
Preaching coaching & development
Navigating polarization & burnout
Staff development & team health
Who I Worked With
After more than two decades in pastoral leadership, I'm beginning a new chapter—coming alongside pastors and leaders as a coach, consultant, and thought partner.
I currently serve as the Pastoral Civic Leadership Advisor at the Center for Christianity and Public Life (CCPL), where I bring decades of pastoral leadership to support pastors and congregations navigating the civic dimensions of their calling, working closely with the Christian Civic Formation team.
I'm still learning what it means to serve from this new role, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to support leaders facing the same challenges I've navigated throughout my own ministry.
If you're a pastor or leader looking for a seasoned guide to walk with you—not with easy answers but with deep empathy and strategic insight—I'd be honored to connect.
Whether you're stepping into a new role, preparing to hand off leadership, or in the messy middle of organizational change
Navigating a major transition or succession
You're still showing up and serving, but the joy feels distant and you wonder if anyone sees how exhausted you really are
Feeling the weight of leadership fatigue or isolation
When your church feels divided and every sermon or decision seems to deepen the fault lines
Leading through cultural upheaval and congregational polarization
You need space to step back, gain perspective, and reconnect with why you said yes to ministry in the first place
Ready to rediscover your calling with renewed clarity and hope
You want to communicate more effectively, connect more deeply, and preach with renewed clarity and confidence
Seeking to sharpen your preaching and deepen your impact
What Clients Gain
When we work together, my goal is that you walk away transformed. You'll have felt genuinely seen, heard, and cared for in a way that restores hope and renews your sense of purpose. You'll regain strategic focus for the challenges ahead. Your preaching will become sharper—more grounded, relevant, and compelling. And you'll grow in the kind of cultural and spiritual discernment that sustains faithful leadership over the long haul.
Let's begin not with easy answers but by asking the right questions, together.
“David and I worked together in several areas at Redeemer. David has the highest level of integrity, wisdom and desire for the advancement of God's work in New York City.”
— Andrew Field, Church Planter, Executive Pastor
"David Bisgrove is a phenomenal, experienced leader who cares deeply for both the Church and the City. I love working with and learning from David, and I am grateful for the tremendous experiences, knowledge and wisdom that he offers in service of others."
-Michael Wear, President & CEO, Center for Christianity and Public Life
